Checklist
Before You Convert: A Mobile App Checklist for Your Lovable Product
November 6, 2026 · 5 min read
The fastest way to waste a build is to package a product that is not ready for a phone. Before converting your Lovable project to Android or iOS, work through this checklist. It separates product readiness from source preparation and release requirements, so you can solve the right problem before uploading.
1. Finish the main customer journey
Choose the one task your app exists to help with and complete it on the published site. Use a real account and realistic input. Confirm that saved information appears when you return and that empty, loading and error states are understandable. Do not judge readiness only from a populated preview.
- The main action works from beginning to end on a real phone.
- Navigation fits small screens without hiding important controls.
- Forms remain usable when the on-screen keyboard opens.
- Errors preserve the user's input and explain what they can do next.
2. Check hosting and sign-in
Keep the production website on a stable HTTPS address. Confirm that all resources load securely and that server functions are deployed. A packaged frontend still depends on those services; a source ZIP is not a replacement for hosting.
Test sign-in, sign-out, password reset and any external identity provider inside the installed mobile app. Check the callback configuration for the actual mobile authentication flow. Browser sessions may not transfer into an embedded runtime, so make sure a new customer can sign in independently.
3. Decide what happens without a connection
You do not have to promise a fully offline product. You do need to handle connection loss intentionally. Show a clear retry state, avoid losing unsaved work and do not let a blank screen look like a crash. If you add service-worker caching, make sure it does not leak private data between accounts or keep outdated screens indefinitely.
4. Prepare app identity and platform source
- Choose stable Android application and iOS bundle identifiers.
- Prepare readable app icons and the platform assets your project needs.
- Include buildable Android or iOS platform source and configuration.
- Do not assume a server-rendered web build can run as a standalone mobile bundle.
- Keep the source ZIP within the dashboard's 50 MB limit; exclude dependencies and repository metadata.
Ask Lovable to help prepare mobile compatibility, but verify the generated project rather than treating a prompt as proof of a working build. Missing platform files, wrong build paths and unavailable dependencies are packaging problems, not store-review problems.
5. Review privacy and permissions
Document the information your app collects, including analytics and third-party services. Provide an accessible privacy policy and request only permissions required for real features. If users can create accounts, check the current account-deletion requirements for each store and implement a usable deletion process where required.
If you sell digital content or subscriptions inside the app, review each store's current payment rules for your region and distribution model. Do not assume a website checkout is automatically compliant when placed inside a mobile app.
6. Collect signing and launch materials
Prepare your Android keystore information or create a new identity for a new app. For iOS, collect the Apple Distribution certificate, its password and the matching App Store provisioning profile. Apple signing and an available Mac worker are required for the iOS build.
